battle no stove

No, seriously. I still have no stove. One month and counting. But no, this doesn't mean I'm not cooking. Granted, I'm not really cooking anything new and exciting. I think in this time of endless apartment frustration, I'm turning to some of my old favorites and amping up the comfort factor. Here are some of my favorite recipes that require no stove - turn on the oven, break out the slow cooker, you might even dust off the microwave.

Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup

Slow Cooker Chicken Adobo
Oven-Baked BBQ Brisket
Remy's Ratatouille
No-Fry Eggplant Parmesan

And then, of course, there's all those desserts...

I've put out an all-points bulletin that I need a slow cooker for my birthday/Chanukah this year. I was going to ask whether you could recommend one you like!

I really want to try the chicken. It looks yummy.

Josh got me the huge All-Clad slow cooker for Chanukah/Christmas last year. It's awesome, but it's honestly more slow-cooker than I generally need. Hamilton Beach makes more classic slow cookers that are super affordable and very highly rated.

You can make a pretty awesome beef stew in your slow cooker with stew meat, 1 can of beef stock, 2 cans of tomato soup, red wine to taste, and some soy sauce, plus whatever spices and veggies you desire.
